
(RTTNews) - The total number of building permits issued in Australia was up a seasonally adjusted 7.5 percent on month in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday - standing at 14,223.
That beat forecasts for an increase of 1.4 percent following the 4.0 percent decline in September.
On a yearly basis, permits were down 6.1 percent.
Permits for private sector houses added 2.2 percent on month and shed 8.1 percent on year at 8,505. Permits for private sector dwellings excluding houses jumped 19.5 percent on month and sank 2.7 percent on year at 5,554.
