Taiwan equities closed lower on Monday due to losses in the Taiwan Computer and Peripheral and Taiwan Rubber sectors, leading the Taiwan Weighted to decline by 0.20%.

The top gainers on the Taiwan Weighted were Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which increased by 10.00% or 29.50 points, closing at 324.50. Tainan Enterprises Co Ltd (TW:1473) also gained 10.00% or 5.00 points, ending at 55.00, while San Far Property Ltd (TW:9946) rose by 9.99% or 4.50 points, closing at 49.55 in late trade.

The biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which dropped 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57 in late trade. Uniform Industrial Corp (TW:2482) fell by 6.39% or 2.75 points to 40.30, and Edom Technology Co Ltd (TW:3048) decreased by 6.24% or 2.15 points to 32.30.

Declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.

Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), Tainan Enterprises Co Ltd (TW:1473), and San Far Property Ltd (TW:9946) all reached all-time highs, with Century Iron And Steel increasing by 10.00% or 29.50 to 324.50, Tainan Enterprises gaining 10.00% or 5.00 to 55.00, and San Far Property rising by 9.99% or 4.50 to 49.55.

In commodities trading, crude oil for July delivery was up 0.16% or 0.12 to $75.65 a barrel. Brent oil for August delivery rose 0.16% or 0.13 to $79.75 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.61% or 14.20 to $2,310.80 a troy ounce.

USD/TWD increased by 0.12% to 32.45, while TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.22.

The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.04% to 104.90.
