Finance Minister Shunichi Suzuki declared on Friday that Japan's economy is no longer experiencing deflation and that there is a significant trend of pay increases.
In recent days, a number of policymakers, including Suzuki and Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, have stated repeatedly that the nation is still not in a position to declare a firm exit from deflation.
While declining to comment on the Bank of Japan's policy decisions at its meeting next week, Suzuki stated that the government will mobilize all available policy measures to maintain the upward momentum on wages.
